Air Conditioning Services

Seasonal Tune-Ups | Maintaining your AC system seasonally will ensure your system is running well and will help extend its life. From filter replacements and coil cleaning to full system inspections, maintenance will extend your AC system’s lifespan and prevent costly breakdowns. |
AC Installation & Repair | In no time at all, our team can diagnose and fix a wide variety of cooling issues – weak airflow, warm air, unusual noises, and system failures. If you’re in need of an entirely new system, we’ll help you choose the best unit based on your home’s size and cooling needs. |
Emergency Service | If your AC system stops working suddenly in the middle of the night or over the weekend, we provide rapid response service to get your system up and running again. |
Humidifier & Dehumidifier Services
Service | Description |
---|---|
Dehumidifier Installation | Michigan’s humid summers can lead to musty odors, mold growth, and condensation on your windows. To combat excess moisture and keep your home comfortable, we install both whole-home and standalone dehumidifiers, helping to prevent mold and easing the load on your AC system. |
Humidifier Installation | Forced air heating can dry out your home’s air, causing discomfort and even damaging wood floors and furniture. Our whole-home humidifiers integrate with your HVAC system to maintain healthy, balanced humidity throughout every room. |
Air Quality Services
Service | Description |
---|---|
Air Quality Audit | We evaluate your home’s air for pollutants, allergens, humidity issues, and poor ventilation, then recommend solutions to improve your indoor air quality. |
Air Purifier Installation | Dust, pet dander, smoke, and airborne bacteria can all lower indoor air quality. Our whole-home air purification systems filter out these contaminants to deliver cleaner, healthier air. |
UV Light Air Sanitization | UV light purification systems target and neutralize mold, bacteria, and viruses as they move through your HVAC system, adding an extra layer of protection. |
Ventilation Improvement | We diagnose airflow problems and enhance ventilation with solutions like kitchen and bathroom exhaust fans, ductwork repairs, or fresh air intake installations. |
Air Duct & Insulation Services
Service | Description |
---|---|
Duct Cleaning | If you’re noticing more dust in your home or worsening allergies, built-up debris in your ducts could be the culprit. A deep cleaning can improve both air quality and system performance. |
Ductwork Repair & Replacement | Gaps, leaks, or damage in your duct system force your HVAC to work harder. We seal and repair ducts to help your system work more effectively while using less energy. If the system is too old or undersized, we will design and install new ductwork to distribute air around your home more efficiently. |
Attic & Wall Insulation | Upgrading your insulation helps maintain a stable indoor temperature year-round and can also lower utility bills. |
Water Heater Services
Service | Description |
---|---|
Water Heater Repair & Replacement | We troubleshoot and repair all common water heater problems, including slow heating, leaks, noises, and lack of hot water. If the problem cannot be fixed, we can help you upgrade to a modern, energy-efficient water heater. |
Water Heater Maintenance | Regular maintenance prevents breakdowns and extends your unit’s lifespan. We flush sediment, check heating elements, and inspect for leaks to make sure your water heater is in top shape for long-term performance. |
Tankless Water Heater Upgrades | Switching to a tankless system provides limitless hot water, better energy efficiency, and a longer lifespan with less maintenance. |

Category | The Oasis Difference | Other Grosse Pointe Farms HVAC Providers |

Local Expertise | Nearly 20 years serving Grosse Pointe Farms. We understand the area’s harsh winters and humid summers from decades of experience. |
Many providers have only a few years of experience. Limited experience and little knowledge of local climate challenges. |
Customer Support | Fast scheduling—appointments in hours or days, not weeks. 24/7 emergency service, even on holidays. |
Long wait times and limited hours of availability. Many offer no emergency service. |
Experience with Older Homes | Specialists in mid-century and older homes. We create custom solutions for each customer’s unique needs like ductless systems and mini splits. |
Many offer a one-size-fits-all approach, often ignoring older home needs. |
Licensing, Certifications & Training | Exceed state and federal licensing standards. Technicians receive ongoing training and certifications. |
Many providers only meet the bare minimum requirements for licensing. Most don’t invest in additional education. |
High-Quality Parts & Materials | We only use high-quality, durable systems and components. | Other providers cut corners and use low-quality parts and materials to cut costs. |
Our Experience with Grosse Pointe Farms Homes
Grosse Pointe Farms is the location of many charming to palatial homes in a variety of styles that can include Tudor, Colonial, and Mediterranean Revival, among many others. While they can be eye-opening from the street, these homes were usually designed and constructed from the turn of the 20th century to the 1950s. Their HVAC systems, insulation, and ventilation strategies date from that time as well.
This is no less true of the other styles of homes that can vary from Cape Cod to Craftsman to Mid-Century ranches. While the people living in them can enjoy the many features, heating and cooling systems were often the last considerations and they can have issues maintaining the proper temperature in various regions of the homes due to differences in their unique styles.
Relying on Natural Circulation in Tudor Homes Can Be Difficult
Of the principal styles of homes, Tudors are the ones that have the most striking difference in window size. Unfortunately for properties near lakes, this can lead to inadequate ventilation. Architects were designing for appearance and hoping that natural air would flow.
The designs of Tudor windows mean that whole-home air purifiers or energy-recovery ventilators would normally make a lot of sense. However, Tudors also have steeply pitched ceilings, so working with an expert HVAC contractor can be crucial to satisfy air quality concerns while respecting the interior’s design.
Lack of Zonal Climate Control Can Make Summers Hot, Winters Cold
While the Pointes are considered more mild than some of their neighbors, the older floor plans don’t contribute to that. In fact, difficulties with moving air to areas of the home that need it, including multi-story buildings, can be a sign that it is time to look into multi-zone units.
This can be accomplished in one of two manners: if the existing system works well but there is simply an inadequately controlled area of the home, then a ductless mini-split can help avoid issues with moving air around the property. If there are multiple areas with problems, upgrading to a ducted forced-air system may make the most sense depending on architectural issues.
Dehumidifiers Can Maximize the Value of a Home and Interior
Many Grosse Pointers enjoy the summer months, but only when they have access to the cooler air indoors or can catch a breeze. Basements and attics do not have the same luxury and can frequently be the scene of “sweating” or pockets of humidity due to the lack of circulation in these areas.
Installing a whole-home dehumidifier or air purification can make sense either separately or as part of a home retrofit depending on the state of the existing HVAC system. Since they work in concert, it may be easier to size a dehumidification system alongside a new heat pump compared to adding one on to an existing system.
Cape Cod Style Dimensions Create Heat Pockets
Without adequate ductwork and zonal temperature management, the steeply pitched roofs of Cape Cods can cause “heat pockets” in the upper floors. This happens as hot air rises and has no way to escape the home. Homeowners can avoid these issues by either improving ventilation on the second or higher stories with energy recovery ventilators or with zonal temperature control systems with an emphasis on an upstairs thermostat.
Lengthy Ductwork in Ranch Homes
While mid-century ranch homes have a unique appeal where there is room to build them, they can cause heating and cooling problems in the areas furthest from the furnace or heat pump. Over time, the ducting can develop leaks or simply be too long to efficiently cool and heat far away spaces. This is exacerbated by the large picture windows that can add lots of natural light but also transmit in heat. Frequent inspections can help limit problems before they start as long as the HVAC system is powerful enough in the first place and not in need of replacement.
Craftsman-Style Homes Tend to Have Airflow Issues
Two major factors both provide Craftsman homes their appeal and make heating and cooling them difficult for the average HVAC system: the woodwork and built-in features restrict airflow around the home, which is often divided into individual spaces for specific uses rather than the more common open plans seen in the 1990s and 2000s. Special care must be taken when adapting to the circulation issues, which can make options like ductless mini-split heat pumps a viable option. Their narrow-diameter piping can often limit the impact of heating and cooling needs on architectural goals.
